BEER DRINKERS RECIEVE CALL FROM PSYCHOANALYST IN VIDEO, IN SEARCH OF RARE CHARACTERS


An interactive project to find rare characters worthy of a free 4 pack of Grolsch. The experience took mobile and desktop interaction to a whole new level. As part of The Rare Character Test, users texted their answer to one of four randomly served questions in a video. As they watched the Grolsch psychoanalyst study their answer at her desk, pick up her phone and dial. To their surprise they would then witness their very own mobile phone ring. Once answered they would hear the psychoanalyst through their phone whilst maintaining a visual connection within the video as she would discuss the results and determine whether you were rare enough a character to deserve a mobile optimized coupon for a free beer.

This campaign was one of the first integrating interactive video and telephony functionality, creating a seamless, interactive and personalized user experience.  It freaked people out and pushed the boundaries of what was technically possible.
